Leadership

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and governance for the Association, setting priorities, guiding initiatives, and ensuring the organization remains aligned with its mission and goals.
     -Time commitment includes quarterly board meetings, chairing a committee, and active involvement at the Annual Convention & Expo.

Committees 

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee focuses on growing and retaining membership by promoting benefits, increasing engagement, and connecting with current, prospective, and lapsed members.
     -While time commitment may vary, members are expected to attend at least bimonthly meetings to support ongoing initiatives.

Education Committee

The Education Committee guides the Association’s continuing education and accreditation programs by setting priorities, reviewing content and speakers, and supporting educational initiatives, including the Annual Convention & Expo.
     -Time commitment varies, with bimonthly meetings and increased involvement leading up to the Annual Convention & Expo to support education planning.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee identifies and recommends qualified agents for leadership roles at both the state and national levels, builds a strong pipeline of talent for committee involvement, and manages the nomination process for the annual election.
     -Time commitment is seasonal, with focused involvement leading up to the annual election meeting.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors chaired by the Board Treasurer. It is responsible for reviewing and guiding the organization’s financial matters. Specifically, the committee ensures internal controls, independent audits, and financial analysis.
     -While time commitment may vary, members are expected to attend at least bimonthly meetings to support ongoing initiatives.

Bylaws Committee

The Bylaws Committee reviews the current Bylaws to determine if changes are needed due to practice or good governance and to prepare appropriate amendments for action by the PIA Texas Membership.
     -Time commitment is periodic, with meetings scheduled as needed to review and update bylaws.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee oversees the development and evaluation of the annual awards program, including establishing criteria, reviewing new award ideas, managing the voting process, and coordinating the awards presentation.
     -Time commitment is seasonal, with increased involvement leading up to the awards nomination, voting, and presentation process.

Governmental Affairs Committee

The purpose of the Governmental Affairs Committee is to maintain a current awareness of all pending and proposed insurance legislation or regulation in the state and further the interest of professional insurance agents and small businesses on behalf of the PIA of Texas membership.
     -Time commitment varies, with regular engagement during legislative sessions and as needed to review and respond to proposed legislation.
