Maintaining the CPIA Designation
To maintain the right to use the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA)
designation, CPIA's must participate in one of the three Insurance Success
Seminars core seminars; attend the PRO-to-PRO Executive Retreat; attend
a Regional Sales & Marketing Training Event or attend one of the Advanced
Insurance Success Seminars every other year. The update requirement must be
fulfilled by the last day of the month during which the designee originally
completed the CPIA designation requirements.
For example: CPIA Designation Requirements completed in December, 2003.
The first update must be taken before December 31, 2005 - allowing two years
for the update to be completed. The newest option is to become a member of
the AIMS Society at the Individual or Agency Level (membership is renewed
annually). As long as membership is maintained, the update requirement
will be met.
Fulfilling the CPIA Update Requirement
CPIA's will be reminded via postcard 12 months prior and 3 months prior
to their update due date. Upon completion of the update seminar, the AIMS
Society will be notified by the course sponsor via the course roster. CPIA's
who complete their update during any event sponsored directly by the AIMS
Society will automatically be updated by the AIMS Society via program records.
Successful completion of the update will be confirmed via letter/postcard from
the AIMS Society.
Reinstatement Policy
CPIA's who do not meet the requirements for update by the required date
will be notified by the AIMS Society and given 6 months to attend an update
seminar. If, after six months, the update requirements have not been met,
the rights and privileges associated with the CPIA designation will be revoked.
